Simon Busuttil has news

Please stop whatever you may be doing: Simon Busuttil has news!!!
The Prime Minister’s chief of staff, Keith Schembri, has just filed a police report (kwerela) against 'opposition leader' Simon Busuttil whereby he (Schembri) asked the Police to ascertain whether it can investigate Busuttil over ‘fabrications, calumny and lying under oath’ (click also here). This, ostensibly following Busuttil's relentless, albeit useless, campaign of trying to smear Schembri in every immaginable manner over the past years.
Busuttil, did 'a Trump' and quickly resorted to twitter (see pic above) to wail how "they" now wanted to use the police to silence him concluding with: "I have news for them. I will fight for democracy".
Well, we the people, have news for you too Simon, in case you didn't quite get it on the 3rd of June.
On the 3rd June, the overwhelming majority of the Maltese electorate delivered 2 clear, indisputable and unequivocal verdicts:
  1. a resounding "NO" to you and your negative campaign of calumny based on hate and jealousy
  2. a resounding endorsement of PM Joseph Muscat, his leadership AND his team.
It was clear to all and sundry that the PM has undisputed confidence in Keith Schembri as his closest aide, so by default, the electorate gave an equally resounding 'thumbs up' to him as well.
It follows, therefore, that in theory it is not simply 'Keith Schembri' who is proceeding against you, but the absoulte majority of the Maltese who are simply not satisfied with having humiliated you at the hustings but who want to see you pay the price for your lies and hate-mongering and for all that you have put the country through over the past years.
I would dare say that this majority is even bigger than the one of 03 June, being bolstered by a large number of genuine Nationalists who would like to see you pay dearly for driving their once-glorious party straight over the clifftops. Nationalista who over the coming months will be probably clamouring for their party to publicly distance itself from all that you had come to represent if it is to avoid another catastrophe at the polls in five years' time.
This is the news dear Simon! News that in your parallel universe and with your incurable sense of superiority and self-righteousness you will never begin to grasp.
Lastly, even in a 1.5 line tweet you manage to ridicule yourself when you state that you "will fight for democracy", pardon me? What's wrong with our democracy?  Maybe it's too reflective of the popular sentiment for your liking? Or maybe you were referring to the 'democracy' within the PN under 'your' 'leadership'?
Have a holiday Simon ... a long one, you clearly need it :)
